Can't Make It Into the Library? We Can Bring the Library to You!
Borrowers who are confined to their homes can arrange to have library staff and volunteers regularly select and deliver library materials to their door every month. This free service is available to Smiths Falls and area residents of any age who are confined to their home or residence for more than 3 months because of age, illness, frailty or caregiver responsibilities.
Qualified staff select materials from regular and large-print books, music CDs, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs, magazines, and audiobooks. Materials are available in English. Homebound clients may also request specific titles. Materials chosen to fit our borrower’s interests are delivered every three weeks, either by library staff or volunteers. The library delivers to individual homes, continuing care centres, auxiliary hospitals and senior residences. Please note that homebound services borrowers have extended borrowing privileges including longer loan periods and exemptions from late item charges. Library staff also provide phone and online support for renewals and requesting specific titles.
